Knitted Wire Mesh for EMI & Filtration | Durable, Custom
If you spend enough time in refineries or compressor rooms, you notice which components quietly do the heavy lifting. This is one of them. From NO.11 WEI'ER ROAD, Industrial East Area, Anping County, Hebei, China, this product has a simple promise: stainless steel wire, crochet weaving, and reliable gas–liquid filtration. Sounds modest; in practice, it’s a workhorse.
Demand for knitted wire mesh has been rising in mist elimination, crankcase ventilation, and VOC capture. Driven by tighter emissions targets and the push for energy efficiency, many customers say they’re swapping bulky separators for compact mesh pads. To be honest, the trend is toward higher bulk densities and smarter layering (bi-metal combinations) to fine-tune pressure drop vs. capture efficiency.
| Spec (typical) | Value (≈) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Wire diameter | 0.08–0.30 mm | 316L common at 0.12–0.20 mm |
| Bulk density (pad) | 80 / 144 / 193 kg·m⁻³ | Select for pressure drop vs. efficiency |
| Roll width / length | 100–600 mm / 10–30 m | Custom sizes available |
| Operating temperature | -40 to 600 °C (grade-dependent) | Monel/Inconel for extremes |
| Typical droplet capture | ≥96% @ 3–5 μm | At 1–3 m·s⁻¹ gas velocity |
Use knitted wire mesh in demister pads, silencers, flame arrestor packs, mufflers, EMI shielding, and as a support layer in sintered elements. In one food plant trial (steam-in-place cleaning weekly), pressure drop stayed under 150 Pa for six months—surprisingly stable given the condensate load.
Field data: 316L pad, 144 kg·m⁻³, captured 98.1% of >3 μm droplets at 1.8 m·s⁻¹; ΔP ≈ 120 Pa. Tested against internal SOP referencing API 12J calculations and ISO 8573-1 particle classes.
| Vendor | Lead time | Customization | QC / Certs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hebei manufacturer (origin listed) | 7–15 days | Wire, density, pad geometry | ISO 9001; EN 10204 3.1 | Factory pricing; stable lots |
| Global importer | 3–6 weeks | Limited SKUs | Mixed (varies) | Convenient for small orders |
| Local fabricator | 2–10 days | Cut-to-fit pads | Shop QA | Fast retrofits, higher unit cost |
Options include wire grade, diameter, bulk density, layer count, roll width/length, and pad framing (SS, FRP, or alloy). Many customers say that stepping from 80 to 144 kg·m⁻³ cuts carryover visibly without throttling flow—your mileage may vary, of course.
Common paperwork: ISO 9001:2015 QMS, EN 10204 3.1 material certs, RoHS/REACH statements, and for oil & gas, material selection against NACE MR0175/ISO 15156. I guess what matters most on site is traceability and consistent wire certs—ask for heat numbers on every coil.
